SDAAA – SDSU Homecoming 2012

SDSU’s Homecoming weekend is coming up very quickly.  Homecoming weekend will be a great opportunity for the alumni to meet the Kappa Sigma Colony undergrads, so you can see firsthand the group that will be bringing our Chapter back and continuing our legacies at SDSU.

Homecoming weekend will be filled with various fun activities – the game is to be held on Saturday, October 13th.

  • Kick-off is slated for 3:30pm.
  • Tailgate party prior to the game, starting at 12:00pm.
  • Post-game festivities are still being decided on, but be assured we will be meeting somewhere after the game.

Further details on all of the activities will be sent soon.

Shortly, we will be sending out more information about the final details of the golf tournament, tailgate and any other social events for the weekend. Keep updated by checking back here at the SDAAA website.

Who is interested in golfing on that Friday, October 12th? The cost will be approximately $85/player, which will include 18 holes of golf, cart, box lunch, and 2 drink tickets. We will most likely tee off at around 12:00 noon. I need to determine an approximate headcount by next Thursday, September 27th, to get our plans set. Kappa Sigma Founder’s Day Celebration – San Diego (SDAAA)

It is that time of year again for our annual Founders Day Celebration. This year’s event will be a very special one because we will be having as our guest speaker, Kappa Sigma/Epsilon-Iota alumnus, Brian Sipe, who as all of you know was a NFL star, all pro and MVP during his days with the Cleveland Browns. Brian is currently the Quarterback coach for the rejuvenated SDSU Aztecs. With his and the entire coaching staff’s support, we will see the Aztecs get back to their glory days in the very near future. Brian will speak to us about his days as a Kappa Sigma at SDSU, but more importantly about the lessons he has learned in life as a pro athlete and now successful coach.

We have limited space for this event and now with 2 chapters here in the San Diego area, the available spots will fill up fast. This will be “first come, first served” so please get back to me as soon as possible with a firm commitment on your attendance. If you are planning to attend, please respond directly back to me at dschofield@skylight.com. I need to finalize the headcount no later than Monday, November 30th.

Costs:
- Alumni – $40 per Person
- Active Kappa Sigma Undergrads – $30 per person
Location: the new SDSU Alumni Center, located on the campus at SDSU, just down the way from the Kappa Sigma, Epsilon-Iota Chapter House by Cox Arena

While the SDSU Aztecs enjoyed close competition, Kappa Sigma Alumni enjoyed a great weekend of brotherhood and entertainment.

Starting with the Alumni Golf Tournament on Friday (October 16, 2009), over 40 brothers gathered to play an exciting and fun-filled tournament at the Double Tree Golf Resort.

We also enjoyed a stunning display of Aztec Football on Saturday (October 17, 2009), giving a decent showing against BYU. The tailgate prior to the game was a great time to reacquainted with other Alumni and reconnect on recent events.

Keep your calendar open for Dec 6th, 2009 (Sunday) as Founder’s Day will be an event you will not want to miss! We’re having a very special guest speaker who has recently achieved new status as a local Kappa Sigma Epsilon-Iota alumni.
